I've found referring to myself as a "former runner" mildly demoralizing... and thus I've begun calling myself a Runner Emeritus. I still think like a runner... sunny days and good music make me want to grab my Hokas and head for the hills (and cold, foggy mornings make me want to bundle up and tough it out like Rocky).
So why not take my runner attitude and put it to good use? It shows up in the rest of my life as a mom, a food allergy advocate, and a lover of outdoors.
